The inside scoop on Daintree Ice Cream
lonely planet called it "the most scenic ice cream company ever!"
Nestled in the Daintree Rainforest on a spectacular 22 acre property, the area boasts an organic fruit orchard, stunning tropical gardens, a shop front and of course ice cream making facilities.
Founded in 1993, the Daintree Ice Cream Company has been coming up with fresh and unique tropical flavoured ice cream ever since and it just keeps getting better and better.
Ever tried wattleseed and coconut gelato? Or how about black sapote or davidson plum sorbet?
They also sell authentic Italian gelato sticks - some of the flavours include soursop, mango/passionfruit and chocolate for all those die-hard chocoholics. Gluten and dairy free options are available.
If your mouth isn’t watering yet, it will be 5 minutes after you arrive.
All the fruit that goes into these extremely tasty melting delights comes from the local orchard. If it’s fresher than fresh you want, that’s what you’ll get.
In fact...you’ll get four scoops of fresh tropical ice cream in what they call the “sample cup”. But between you and me it’s a lot bigger than your normal sample size - it’s four big scoops of unique tropical ice cream yumminess! The hardest decision is which flavour to dive into first.
The motto here is “celebrating the weird and wonderful world of exotic fruit ice cream”. So open your mind (and mouth!) to get the most out of your visit.
Flavours are changed daily based on seasonability and flavour matching, so if you fancy going back-to-back you won’t be disappointed!
We’ve made plenty of pit stops here over the years and it’s funny how a short visit always turns into a few hours in the lush tropical surrounds (plus one too many ice creams).
It’s an absolute must stop when you’re up in the Daintree!
